Mix Gas

Achieve oxide-free and smooth surfaces with Nukon laser cutting using mixed gas technology. Accelerate your production process by eliminating the need for oxide layer removal prior to welding or painting. While working with low-quality materials can be challenging, our MixGas technology ensures the production of high-quality parts. Effortlessly achieve the exceptional processing results you require.

Nukon MixGas enables faster results even with low-quality materials compared to flame and fusion cutting.

For example, on a 12kW laser machine cutting 10 mm mild steel:

  • It is up to 150% faster than oxygen (O2) cutting, with this difference increasing significantly as laser power rises.
  • It is 15% to 25% faster compared to nitrogen (N2) cutting.

It is important to note that the MixGas technique is not technically a fusion cutting process, but it behaves very similarly. Therefore:

  • The laser power used is the same as in fusion (nitrogen) cutting.
  • Gas consumption is comparable to fusion cutting but may slightly decrease or increase for certain thicknesses to achieve cleaner cuts.
